Beautiful Salvador Dali Museum in Florida by HOK

Architecture, Design
Named one of AOL Travel’s “Buildings You Have to See Before You Die”, the new Salvador Dali Museum by HOK Architects in St. Petersburg, Florida stuns us with its bubble-like glass structure. The contrast and harmony brought by the concrete building under the glass is fascinating, like an invitation to come-in. This was made to bring a bright natural light to the most comprehensive collection of Dali’s work outside of Europe, with UV-filtering glass panels.  Definitely one of HOK most beautiful buildings yet.                                                               Credit: Photo © Moris Moreno | Courtesy of HOK Author: Pierre Go to Source: Fubiz Media Powered by WPeMatico

Floating Transparent Leaf Prints

These transparent photographs are the result of the collaboration between designers from MOEBE, architects from Norm Architects and the art collective Paper Collective. The three Danish companies joined forces to create the “Floating Leaves” series. The frames with a simple design reuse the principle of herbarium and the transparency plays with the light so that the plants can be perfectly integrated in their environment. A poetic and practical way to put more plants into our homes. Author: Alice Go to Source: Fubiz Media Powered by WPeMatico
Urban Stories by Sebastien Weiss

Urban Stories by Sebastien Weiss

Architecture, Design
“The city is the theatre of life” stated two experts in Urban Research, Ash Amin and Stephen Graham, in their joint publication “The Ordinary City” in the late 90s. For Sebastien Weiss, this sentence is a major inspiration. For him, a city is first of all a theater in which dramas and comedies take place. “Dramatis Personae II”, a series shot in Paris, is about the characters of this story, the key elements of a scenario. Among them, some buildings from ECDM Architectes, Émile Aillaud, Jean Nouvel, Gérard Grandval, VIB Architecture and Rudy Ricciotti.
