When 38-year-old Daniel Modøl went outside to film a distant storm he didn’t expect it would get so close. He was safely standing on his terrace in Gjerstad, Aust-Agder, Norway and shooting lightning bolts flashing in the area. Nature, however, had planned something more. While still in his flip-flops, Daniel witnessed a lightning strike leaving a crater in his backyard about 15-20 feet (4,5-6 meters) away from him. He wasn’t fast enough to record the near-instantaneous bolt, but he did document the aftermath. Modøl decided to go back inside for the remainder of the storm. He found his ceiling fan off and burn marks all over the electrical outlet where his modem was. I’d say that’s a fair bargain, considering you just barely avoided getting blown to pieces. Why does social media make it seem like everybody else is having more fun than you? The answer is simple. They’re not. They just look like they are. Don’t be fooled by their pictures of wild parties, hipster lunch dates, tranquil yoga sessions and romantic outings with their significant other, because as you can see from the video below, not everything is quite as it seems. Show Full Text The video was created by Ditch the Label, an anti-bullying organisation working in the USA, UK, and Mexico, and the purpose of the film is to highlight how the “perfect” lives that people strive to imitate are often not so perfect after all. Created in partnership with fashion house boohoo.com, the video raises important questions about truth, perception, and identity. “We’re all guilt

Humpback whales are pretty big. Quite enormous in fact. The average weight of a fully grown adult is around 36,000kg, which is about the same weight as 24 adult hippos, but that didn’t stop the massive mammal in the video below from putting on an incredible air display when it leapt completely out of the water in South Africa recently.Show Full Text The footage was shot in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Mbotyi by Craig Capehart, a scuba diver who was sitting in a “rubber duck” inflatable boat when the graceful giant decided to make an appearance. He estimates that the whale weighed around 40 tons, but size clearly meant nothing to this graceful giant. “It seems that never before has a recording been made of an adult humpback whale leaping entirely out of the water! A very rare event, in

Birds fly. That’s what birds do (most of them at least). But birds don’t fly without moving their wings, because that would defy gravity. Obviously. But as you can see below, sometimes nature does mysterious things when it thinks that us humans aren’t looking. Unknown to the levitating star of this trippy video however, a home security camera caught its mind-boggling stunt on video, and it’s since been viewed over 250k times in just 24 hours after a YouTuber called Ginger Beard uploaded it to the internet. Show Full Text How did this little feathered fellow do it? Simple. Its wings just happened to perfectly synchronize with the camera’s frame rate, thereby creating the bizarre optical illusion that you see before you. This isn’t the first time this has happened (we pre
